 The unwritten laws of the spheres of public  life of the title is to ridicule an opponent or someone you have met or learned of in a skittish fashion after "building him up for a fall". Half praise,half mockery. Behind these thespian games of "hook or the ovation" are clever and cynical people in MI 5 in Northern Ireland,all of whom have a political 'cover' such as Brian Mc Cartney and Linda Kowalski and Ron Keegan-Kovac. There is also the Department of the Taoiseach and armed Gardai when they are not engaged in eviction of journalists in their Banana Republic.

A breed of heroes,as in the pulp fiction novella of the  same name aimed at bored English soldiers about to be sent to the North of Ireland in 1983 was a pre-sentiment of things to come and Death-defying Hussey was in fact a psychiatric nurse and/or the familiar composite of five or six individuals who had come to police attention as the journalistic phrase would have it..

Sequential reasoning

The constant theme of the artistic newcomer,'the new kid on the block' is to mimic or 'reference' someone who is an opposite or belonging to a different category, group or class.

This is what Irish nationalists call coat-trailing or,in the Irish Army this self-referencing parody is referred to as 'nos'. It is what the Russians call 'coat-tailing' or what the the Italians call la commedia dell'arte,what the French call la Comedie Francaise or the Germans call Die Spiel or more properly known as mime theatre ('noh'). The Italians refer to the activities of the grisettes (Lenin) as il promennagio and the bigger picture involving cut-throats ('lazzaroni' Marx) as gli giocci d'Italia or attrition con tutti i modi.
